KidSport Calgary puts out call to help more kids have access to basketball

Apr. 02, 2024

KidSport Calgary and The Calgary Flames Sports Bank want more children to have access to basketball and are putting out the call to the community for support.

The Flames Sports Bank accepts donations of basketball shoes, basketballs, shorts, jersey and socks. Donations can be dropped off Wood Automotive Group locations or at the KidSport Calgary office (3557 52nd Street SE) during business hours. Further information on how to make donations can be found on the KidSport Calgary website.

Monetary donations can also be made online to KidSport Calgary and to the Calgary Flames Sports Bank.

KidSport Calgary administers grants up to $500 per child/year to help cover the costs of registration fees, as well as no-cost equipment through the Flames Sports Bank helping remove financial barriers to participation.

There are nearly 40 local chapters of KidSport across the province. Visit the KidSport Alberta website for more information.
