ABA alumni Ejim and Krikke recognized for their success as NCAA student-athletes

Alberta Basketball Association alumni are being recognized for excellence as a student-athletes in NCAA Division 1 basketball.

Gonzaga Bulldogs junior forward Yvonne Ejim (Calgary) and Valparaiso Beacons senior forward Ben Krikke (Edmonton) were named Tuesday (Feb. 21) to their respective 2022-23 Academic All-District Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators.

Currently, Ejim is tops on the Bulldogs in both scoring (16.5 points per game) and rebounding (eight boards per game). She is majoring in Human Physiology and boasts a 3.52 GPA.

Krikke presently leads the Missouri Valley Conference in scoring (19.6 points per game) and ranks second in the MVC for field goal percentage (.548). He owns a 3.78 GPA in finance.

The CSC Academic All-America program recognizes the NCAA’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. Academic All-District honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America honorees will be announced in mid-March.
