PRESS RELEASE: FIBA 3X3 Challenger Edmonton tips off

Sep. 27, 2019

The 2019 FIBA 3x3 Edmonton Challenger runs Saturday Sept. 28 and Sunday Sept. 29 at the West Edmonton Mall Ice Palace.

A stacked field that includes seven of the top 15 teams in the FIBA 3x3 World Tour standings will compete for prize money and to qualify for the upcoming FIBA 3x3 World Tour Masters in Nanjing, China.

This is the second Edmonton Challenger, following a successful debut in September 2018 that attracted large crowds throughout two days of competition at the Ice Palace. NY Harlem returns after winning the championship last year, while local heroes Jordan Baker and Steve Sir will look to lead Team Edmonton to victory in their hometown.
.
The FIBA 3x3 Edmonton Challenger also features a shootout competition with a field that includes reigning champ Steve Sir, a world-class pole vault showcase presented by Athletics Alberta and hosted by three-time Olympian Angela Whyte, entertainment, and much more. Admission is completely free.
