We’re Hiring Two Summer Student Positions
Are you passionate about basketball and looking to gain hands-on experience in sport coordination, events, or media? Alberta Basketball is now hiring for two exciting summer student roles for 2025!
1. Summer Basketball Programs Coordinator
The Summer Basketball Programs Coordinator is a seasonal role designed to support the successful planning and execution of summer programs and initiatives for the Alberta Basketball Association. This position contributes to promoting basketball development and community engagement across the province, ensuring that projects are delivered efficiently and effectively. The role emphasizes in-person, frontline program delivery in our programs as well as administrative support.
Responsibilities include:
• Assist with the coordination and delivery of summer basketball programs, leagues, and events,
ensuring alignment with organizational goals
• Support program logistics, including scheduling, participant registration, and resource
management
• Communicate with participants, coaches, and volunteers to provide information, address inquiries,
and maintain excellent service standards
• Assist in the creation and distribution of program materials, schedules, and promotional content
• Monitor project progress and provide regular updates to supervisors, ensuring timely completion of
tasks
• Collaborate with staff and volunteers to foster a positive and inclusive environment during events
and programs
• Perform other administrative tasks as required to support summer operations
2. Basketball Events & Media Archives Coordinator
We're seeking an energetic and organized coordinator to support both our events team and media archives department during our busiest season. This dual-focus role will help plan and execute basketball events while also managing historical basketball footage and photographs for media productions, documentaries, and promotional content. Additionally, this position will play a key role in preparing for Alberta Basketball's 50th Anniversary celebration in September and laying the groundwork for the upcoming ABA Hall of Fame project.
Responsibilities include:
• Plan and implement basketball tournaments, camps, and community events
• Coordinate registration processes and maintain participant databases
• Communicate with coaches, participants, parents, and volunteers
• Prepare venues and equipment for basketball events
• Support on-site event management and logistics
• Collect and organize event feedback and metrics
