ABA Alumni of the Week: Yvonne Ejim

Calgary’s Yvonne Ejim has been named the Alberta Basketball Association (ABA) Alumni of the Week for March 9 – 15, 2026.

The power forward helped Canada to a 75-44 victory over Argentina at the FIBA 2026 Women's Basketball World Cup Qualifying Tournament in Turkey on March 14. Ejim led all Canadian players with 4 offensive rebounds and 2 steals, while contributing 6 points off the bench.

Through Canada’s first 4 games at the World Cup Qualifying Tournament, Ejim is averaging 4.8 points, 5.3 rebounds, 0.5 assists, 1.0 steals and 1.0 blocks.

Ejim spent four years playing for Team Alberta, competing at the 15U Girls Canada Basketball National Championships in 2016, the Canada Summer Games in 2017, and the 17U Girls Canada Basketball National Championships in 2018 and 2019, winning silver at the latter.
