ABA Alumni of the Week: Holt Tomie

University of British Columbia men’s basketball guard Holt Tomie has been the named Alberta Basketball Association (ABA) Alumni of the Week for the week of Feb. 9 to Feb. 15, 2026.

The Calgary native led the Thunderbirds with 18 points in a 77-69 victory over the Manitoba Bisons in a Canada West playoff quarterfinal game, on Feb. 13 at War Memorial Gym in Vancouver. He also recorded four assists, two rebounds, and two assists to help UBC punch its ticket to the Canada West semi-final round, where they will face the host Winnipeg Wesmen on Feb. 21.

A fifth-year student-athlete, Tomie had a terrific regular season in 2025-26, averaging 12.0 points, 4.5 rebounds and a team-best 5.0 assists over 20 games.

Tomie played for Team Alberta at the Canada Basketball National Championships in 2016 (15U) and 2018 (17U).
