ABA’s 50th Anniversary Gala takes place Sept. 6 inside Hall D at the Edmonton Expo Centre on the home court of the CEBL’s Edmonton Stingers, and will feature very special guests.
The NBA’s all-time leader in assists and steals, John Stockton, will serve as keynote speaker, sharing memories from his historic career with the Utah Jazz and reflecting on his journey from playing college basketball at Gonzaga University to becoming a member of the Basketball Hall of Fame.
Members of the 2016 Canadian Olympic basketball team, Nirra Fields, Miah-Marie Langlois and coach Shawnee Harle, will join panel host Cami Kepke for a roundtable discussion about women’s basketball, and look back at their iconic triumph at the 2015 FIBA Americas Championship for Women in Edmonton.
The ABA 50th Anniversary Gala will also feature the unveiling of the 50 Greatest Moments in Alberta Basketball a silent auction with exclusive basketball memorabilia. Reed Clarke will serve as host of the evening.
