ABA Alumni of the Week: Liam Mitakaro

Liam Mitakaro has been named the Alberta Basketball Association (ABA) Alumni of the Week for June 2 - June 8.

The Edmonton native helped Team Canada to a second-place finish at the the FIBA U16 AmeriCup 2025, which took place from June 2 to 8 in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico.

In 6 games, Mitakaro averaged 11.0 points per game, 4.0 rebounds per game and 3.0 assists per game. He led Team Canada with 16 steals, including a tournament-high six against Venezuela on June 2.

Mitakaro represented Alberta at the Canada Basketball 17U Boys National Championships each of the last two years. In 2024, he helped Team Alberta win bronze and was named a Second Team All-Star.
