2021 Western Canada Open ID Session and Assessment Camp


 

WESTERN CANADA: OPEN ID SESSION

AND

ASSESSMENT CAMP

November 5-7, 2021

15U & 18U NATIONAL TEAMS CONSIDERATION

Canada Basketball’s Men's and Women’s High Performance Program will conduct a Western Canada Open ID Session and Assessment Camp for 15U athletes born in 2007 - 2009, and for 18U athletes born in 2004 - 2006 on the weekend of November 5-7, 2021.

The 18U camp for athletes born in 2004, 2005 and 2006 will take place as an opportunity to identify athletes for next summer’s 18U FIBA Americas Qualifiers and U17 FIBA World Cup.

The 15U camp for athletes born in 2007, 2008 and 2009 will give Canada Basketball and Alberta Basketball an opportunity to identify athletes for future program pathway considerations.

The Western Canada Open ID Session and Assessment Camp will move forward permitting Government of Alberta Health restrictions. All provincial health guidance and requirements will be adhered to.

18U Open ID Session &  Western ID Camp

The Open ID Session will take place at The Edge School of Athletes in Calgary, AB the evening of Saturday, November 6. The Open ID Session will be open to Canadian men’s and women’s athletes born in 2004, 2005, and 2006. To be considered as a national team athlete, a valid Canadian passport is required. This camp will be an integral part of our selection process for the 18U FIBA Americas Qualifiers and 18U FIBA World Cup teams. Athletes attending the Open ID sessions will be assessed by national team coaches for potential invitation to attend the Western Canada Assessment Camp, which will take place on Sunday, November 7th.

Canada Basketball’s Men’s and Women’s High Performance Programs will send invitations to selected athletes to attend. Athletes identified from the Western Canada Assessment Camp may be invited to the Canada Basketball National Team Invitational Winter/Spring 2021/2022 Camps.

 

15U Open ID Session &  Western ID Camp

The Open ID Session will take place at SAIT in Calgary, AB the evening of Friday, November 5. The Open ID Session will be open to Canadian men’s and women’s athletes born in 2007, 2008, and 2009. Athletes attending the Open ID sessions will be assessed by national and provincial team coaches for potential invitation to attend the Western Canada Assessment Camp, which will take place on Sunday, November 6th.

All athletes are responsible for their own gear, taping, and expenses to attend. There will be an athletic therapist onsite.

Athletes selected for the Western Canada Assessment Camp will receive a camp t-shirt upon check-in on Saturday.

All athletes attending are required to have an ABA membership

Walk up registration will not be accepted

OPEN ID SESSIONS - REGISTRATION FEE: $10 

(MUST be paid in full online by all athletes that attend the Open ID Session prior to arrival on Friday evening).
