2019 Fall Development Programs

Alberta Basketball Fall Development Programs

Alberta Basketball’s Fall Development Programs are available in Calgary, Edmonton and Lethbridge, with junior and senior academies, for 11-14 and 15-18-year-olds, respectively, giving aspiring boys and girls the chance to improve as players and work towards reaching their basketball goals under the guidance of leading coaches. Programming is based on Canada Basketball’s curriculum, emphasizing the Canadian Style of Play.

There are 2 age categories of Fall Development Programs:

  • Jr. Academy for ages 12-13 years
  • Sr. Academy ages 14-18 years.

Alberta Basketball's Targeted Athlete Strategy (TAS) is part of a national program providing identified athletes with an individualized training and development program that fosters long-term growth as a skilled athlete and maximizes potential for a professional playing career and representing Canada internationally. The TAS has helped a number of aspiring Alberta players, male and female, on their path to Team Canada.

The Fall Jr. Academy and Sr. Academy sessions will begin the week of Sunday September 8th, and end November 17th.  The program end date will coincide with the beginning of the ASAA Season of Play for basketball. There will not be any sessions on the Thanksgiving weekend - October 13
