15U Girls Head Coach: Katherine Adams
MacEwan University - Women's Basketball Head Coach (2016-Present)
Currently the Head Coach of the MacEwan University Women’s Basketball team, Katherine has been leading at the USPORTS level since 2016. She holds a Master of Education in Coaching Studies from the University of Victoria, earned in the same year.
Katherine’s coaching career began at the University of Calgary, where she served as an Assistant Coach for the Women’s Basketball team from 2009 to 2016. Her involvement at the provincial level includes leading Alberta’s U15 Girls to success at both the 2011 Western Canada Summer Games in Kamloops and the 2013 National Championships in St. John’s, Newfoundland, as well as serving as an Assistant Coach with the U17 Girls team at the 2017 Canada Summer Games in Winnipeg.
A former standout player herself, Katherine played five seasons with the University of Calgary from 2001 to 2006. Born and raised in Calgary, Alberta, she remains deeply committed to the development of youth basketball in her home province.

15U Girls Assistant Coach: Aphia Ward
Head Coach - Ambrose University Women’s Basketball (Present)
Hailing from Beaumont, Alberta, Aphia has been immersed in the basketball community since the age of 15, coaching with numerous club and community programs throughout Edmonton.
She most recently served as the Lead Assistant Coach at Ambrose University for the 2024-2025 season and has since stepped into the role of Head Coach. From 2022 to 2024, she was an Assistant Coach at NAIT, contributing to the development of athletes at the collegiate level.
As a player, Aphia competed at the USPORTS level with the University of Waterloo from 2016 to 2020, before continuing her playing career at NAIT in the CCAA during the 2021-2022 season. Her early playing days included time with St. Albert Catholic High School and club programs such as the Jr. Pandas, Jr. Griffins, and Grads.
Aphia’s coaching philosophy is rooted in continuous growth and collaboration:
“I love learning the game and getting to have new experiences, in different environments, around different coaches and players. I am always learning, even from the players.”
15U Girls Assistant Coach: Haley Fedick
Originally from Sherwood Park, Alberta, Haley is proud to give back to the provincial program that helped shape her as an athlete.
A former standout player, Haley represented Alberta on the provincial team for five years before going on to play five seasons at the USPORTS level with Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson University).
Her coaching journey includes time with the U17 Pandas PEBL program, as well as time with the Toronto Lords club. She has also contributed to numerous camps and clinics, helping to grow the grassroots game. This marks her third year coaching with the Alberta provincial team, having previously served as an Apprentice Coach with the U17 Girls, and as an Assistant Coach with the U15 Girls, including a strong performance that helped the team secure 3rd place at Nationals.
Haley’s motivation for coaching is rooted in gratitude and a desire to make a meaningful impact:
“To give back to the program that I enjoyed growing up, inspire and help grow the next generation of female athletes, and to share my knowledge.”
