ABA alum Aher Uguak and the Loyola-Chicago Ramblers are going to the Sweet Sixteen of the 2021 NCAA men's basketball tournament, after beating top-seeded Illinois 71-58 in the Round of 32 at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana on Sunday (March 21).
Loyola, the No. 8 seed in the Midwest Region, will now face No. 12 Oregon State on Saturday (March 26) at 12:40 p.m. MT, with the winner advancing to the Elite Eight. The game will be broadcast in Canada on the TSN networks.
The Ramblers opened their tournament by defeating Georgia Tech 71-60 on Friday (March 19). Uguak, a senior forward from Edmonton, has started both tournament games for Loyola, drawing key assignments and playing lockdown defense.
