Edmonton's Steve Sir and Team Saskatoon look to win FIBA 3x3 on home turf

The 2018 FIBA 3x3 World Tour begins with its first Masters competition of the season in Saskatoon on July 21 and 22.

Edmonton native and Alberta provincial team alumnus Steve Sir is part of Team Saskatoon, who will be looking to capture victory before their home fans in the heart of downtown Saskatoon, at 4th Avenue and 21st Street.

Twelve teams from around the world are competing at the Saskatoon Masters. The winning squad clinches a berth in the 2018 FIBA 3x3 World Tour Final.

Team Saskatoon's four-player lineup for the event also includes Michael Linklater, Michael Lieffers and Nolan Brudehl.

Last July, at the inaugural Saskatoon Masters, Team Saskatoon advanced to the final which they lost to Ljubljana, a team from Slovenia. 

This year, Team Saskatoon has already won two events on the FIBA 3x3 Challenger series.

Saskatoon is among the teams who will be competing at the first-ever FIBA 3x3 Challenger event in Canada, which will take place at the Ice Palace in West Edmonton Mall on Sept. 22 and 23.

The 2018 FIBA 3x3 World Tour culminates with the Bloomage Beijing Final in China on Oct. 27 and 28.
