Team Canada athletes visit with students across Edmonton
Members of Canada Basketball’s Senior Women’s National Team (SWNT) shared their experiences and offered inspiration during visits to nearly a dozen schools in Edmonton on June 14 and 15.
Students from across the city were thrilled to meet their role models, who are eager to make a positive impact in the local community while training at the Saville Community Sports Centre.
The SWNT will be in Edmonton throughout the summer as it prepares for the 2018 FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup, which takes place in Spain at the end of September. Team Canada hosts Turkey in the 2018 Edmonton Grads International Classic on July 4, 6 and 7 at the Saville Centre. Alberta Basketball Association thanks all the members of Team Canada who took time from their busy schedules for the visits, and to all the schools that participated. It was a rewarding experience for all involved.
